چکیده

Prescriptive business process monitoring provides decision support to managers on when and how adapt an ongoing prevent or mitigate undesired outcome. We focus the problem of automatically reconciling trade-off between prediction accuracy earliness in determining adapt. Adaptations should happen sufficiently early provide enough lead time for adaptation become effective. However, earlier predictions are typically less accurate than later predictions. This means that acting may unnecessary adaptations missed adaptations. Different approaches were presented literature reconcile earliness. So far, these compared with different baselines, evaluated using data sets even confidential sets. limits comparability replicability makes it difficult choose a concrete approach practice. perform comparative evaluation main alternative Using four public real-world event log two types models, we assess compare cost savings approaches. Foundations of Prescriptive Process Monitoring

Predictive process monitoring is concerned with the analysis of events produced during the execution of a process in order to predict the future state of ongoing cases thereof. Existing techniques in this field are able to predict, at each step of a case, the likelihood that the case will end up in an undesired outcome. These techniques, however, do not take into account what process workers ma...

National Approaches to Monitoring Population Salt Intake: A Trade-Off between Accuracy and Practicality?

AIMS There is strong evidence that diets high in salt are bad for health and that salt reduction strategies are cost effective. However, whilst it is clear that most people are eating too much salt, obtaining an accurate assessment of population salt intake is not straightforward, particularly in resource poor settings. Application Performance Monitoring: Trade-Off between Overhead Reduction and Maintainability

Monitoring of a software system provides insights into its runtime behavior, improving system analysis and comprehension. System-level monitoring approaches focus, e.g., on network monitoring, providing information on externally visible system behavior. Application-level performance monitoring frameworks, such as Kieker or Dapper, allow to observe the internal application behavior, but introduc...
